The Toshiba Satellite Series is a great PC series, and Toshiba has always impressed with their computers, through professional critics, and through consumer reports. Now enough with cheesy banter, and on to what is really wanted for consumers, the review on good things, things that can been improved, and how the computer is overall.
Some things that are great about this computer are the Hard Drive and System Memory. Its not everyday that you find a computer this cheap with a 500GB Hard Drive and 4GB of memory on board. This can hold up to 100,000 songs; 110,000 HD photos; and about 625 hours of video. Another great thing would be the built in WI-FI card. A Wireless N Router made by Netgear can reach up to 300mbps. This is great for video chatting, online video calls, streaming HD video, and streaming online games without lag. I play Runescape, an MMORGP (Massively Multi-player Online Role-Playing Game) and even when using a 150mbps router there is still a lot of lag, and lag, is frustrating. If you get this computer, I would suggest getting a Netgear Wireless N Router that reaches 300mbps, because with HD Graphics, it creates an ultimate gaming and video watching experience. More Great Things, Windows 7 OS, Intel i3 Core Processor, 12-Cell Battery, 16 Inch Widescreen, and Harman/Kardon Surround Sound Speakers.
Some Bad Things, the things that could be improved that aren't really the best. The main thing I didn't really like was the product weight; 6.5 pounds. That's about as heavy as a normal floor lamp. Another thing, the 12-cell battery. Yes, this is a good thing, and a bad thing. I found that the only bad thing about the 12-cell battery was that it is very large, and is kind of like an attachment. It hooks on like a "riser" if you use it on a desk. The battery becomes into more of an irritation than an add on, because it hurts your legs if you are using it on the go.
Final Review and Rating
This computer, made by Toshiba, sure hasn't let me down yet; no "blue screens", hasn't crashed yet, and never freezes. Everything pops up when I want it to. The RAM and Hard Drive space is perfect for storage of all my personal files, and with the Windows 7 Homegroup feature, you can share documents, photos, and all other files with all the other computers in your house, and the battery life lets me stay unplugged for almost a fourth of the day, allowing me to write all my documents, work on my blogs, and play games and watch movies when I want to. This is a reason Toshiba's slogan still stays at "Leading Innovation".
On a Five Star Scale, the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960 gets 4.7 Stars.
